Engineers designed for use in speech research add the ability to perform acoustic analysis, such as extracting and displaying a frequency contour or spectrogram. They typically lack most or all of the effects of interest to musicians and/or film directors. Audio software, while may seem to be complicated, is actually really easy to learn and use in any audio project.
