A brief overview of audio software

Audio software can be used as an application for editing audio, i.e. manipulating audio or various forms of MP3s, mixing songs, etc.  Audio editors are the main software component of a digital audio software workstation. Engineers designed for use in speech research add the ability to perform acoustic analysis, such as extracting and displaying a frequency contour or spectrogram. They typically lack most or all of the effects of interest to musicians and/or film directors. Audio software, while may seem to be complicated, is actually really easy to learn and use in any audio project.
